Australian team Telstra have landed at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in New Hampshire after hiring a private Qantas Airbus A380 direct from Madrid after competing in the Vuelta de los Castillos. The riders looked tired when unboarding and looked like they need a good rest before the 4th edition of the Race of the Minutemen. A press conference was awaiting Simon Jones and his riders upon arrival. All the circumstances are right for Goddard Scothern when he arrives at the start of the race of the Minutemen in New Hampshre. It is a dream scenario. At 28, has his time come. In the absence of the defending champion Isak Dammen, he would wear the number one for his fourth start in the race. This was appropriate for the runner-up from the previous 2 seasons as the consensus was that he held the title of favourite for the event. Being favourite doesn't sit well with Scothern as he stated in the press conference.
Reporter:Firstly Goddard thanks for taking the time to catch up with us. What are your chances in this seasons RotM?
Scothern:I seriously dont see myself as a threat this time around, I have just come off a hard Vuelta in Spain and with limited rest between tours, I will go into this race tired and no where near where I was in the last 2 seasons here. I was meant to come here to help Otto Hagman win his 3rd tour but after he got an injury 10 days before the Vuelta, he is no shape to lead the team here.
Reporter:Season 17 was the season that you broke into the OCM with your ride at the Germany Tour. How was that season for you?
Scothern:Season 17 was a unbelievable season for me. I had great results in the tours that we participated, I had great team mates who enjoyed all the success, and most of all we were over the moon with victory in Germany. It is such a big race in the OCM world and is well known as all the big names show up.
Reporter:What are your predictions then for this seasons RotM if you consider yourself not a possibility.
Scothern:If I was a betting man, I certainly would be having a flutter on Max Iwers from wild mountain men to win the GC jersey, he looks the strongest and will be very hard to beat. He has some great team mates Martijn Vande Populiere and Marinus van Someren, both will give him great support throughout this race. I am also confident that Douglas Crawford from rigana will feature in this seasons fight for the SC jersey. After finishing 4th in last seasons SC competition he is sure to go to the top being a season wiser and stronger. The YC jersey seems a bit more open, 2 riders that I think will be strong will be Wesley Meadows from Supernutz and Sylvester Bai from Team ANZ Bank.
Reporter:This is your 4th attempt here, do you see yourself returning.
Scothern:No this is certainly my last ride here and I intend to enjoy it, as is the team.
Thats where the press conference ends.
Simon Jones and Telstra leave the press conference. Keep an eye open for Scothern and the rest of his team powered by new GIANT bikes - they will be trying to make history by going for a 4th straight SC jersey, time will tell.

Scothern is favourite for GC and SC in my books. There are challengers, but they have yet to truly prove themselves.
Very Nice press release.
Big respect for the guy, his place Germany or Vuelta not here. Good luck!
Good luck mate! :)
